<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of effectively restraining the occurrence of the distortion of an image, color shift and misregistration between two sides when performing double-sided printing even if there exists extreme deviation of image density distribution in an image or between continuous different images. <P>SOLUTION: By controlling a plurality of heaters 53 provided in the thermal fixing roll 52 of a fixing device for thermally fixing an unfixed toner image formed on a recording medium on the recording medium based on the image density distribution of a toner image so that the fixing temperature of a part where image density is high may be higher than that of a part where the image density is low, the fixing temperature distribution of the heated part of the fixing device is controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
