<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing apparatus which receives a broadcasting signal transmitted on broadcasting transmission paths such as a satellite broadcasting wave by employing CAS (conditional access system) and safely transfers information used for a control of a conditional access system when performing a retransmission of the signal on a broadcasting transmission paths such as CATV by employing other CAS. <P>SOLUTION: A program signal of satellite broadcasting is scrambled by a scrambler 11 and transferred to a STB without performing descrambling. An ECM and an EMM are transferred to the STB via a head end. Related information is encrypted with a S-CAS method in broadcasting station side of a satellite broadcasting and the obtained ECM and EMM are re-encrypted by encryption means 36, 37, and 38 with a C-CAS method without being decrypted by a head end receiver of CATV and transferred to the STB. From a viewpoint of security, key information of the S-CAS method that is common to all receivers is re-encrypted without being decrypted by the head end receiver of CATV. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
