<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb impact load when a pedestrian collides without change in constitution of a conventional impact absorbing member, and to easily adjust the impact load value. <P>SOLUTION: In the pedestrian protection impact absorbing member 20 for the vehicle mounted to a fixed part 70 of a vehicle body by a shaft-like fastener 80 and arranged at a front part of the vehicle, a fragile part 40 of predetermined length required for relaxing the impact load when the pedestrian collides therewith is formed from a position of a mounting hole 30 for inserting the shaft-like fastener 80 in a front direction of the vehicle. When it receives the impact load P when the pedestrian collides and moves in a horizontal direction, the fragile part 40 is plastically deformed by the shaft-like fastener 80 to absorb the impact load P, thereby, relaxing it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
