<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater control device for an exhaust sensor capable of activating an exhaust sensor at an early stage while inhibiting element crack of the exhaust sensor due to adhesion of water drops splashed from an exhaust pipe wall surface. <P>SOLUTION: In the exhaust sensor provided in an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine, a heater control device of the exhaust sensor controlling a current-carrying condition of the heater permits current-carry of the heater under a condition where a state that intake air quantity GA of the internal combustion engine is criterion value GAst or more continues for a predetermined period of time. On the other hand, current-carrying of the heater is prohibited under a condition where intake air quantity GA drops to quantity less than the criterion value GAst from a state that intake air quantity GA gets to the criterion value GAst or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
