PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation device for a vehicle capable of commonly using the operation device in a normal travelling mode and in a special travelling mode and discriminating a difference of the modes by a position of the operation device. SOLUTION: This operation device for the vehicle has a plurality of wheels free to independently steer and a steering gear to steer steering angles of a plurality of the wheels. There are a normal travelling mode to steer only a front wheel out of a plurality of the wheels and a special travelling mode to steer all of a plurality of the wheels, and this operation device for the vehicle has steering position change-over means 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 to change a steering position. The normal travelling mode and the special travelling mode are changed over to each other in correspondence with the steering position by the steering position change-over means.
