PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm that machining contents are properly disposed in a machinable area at a step of setting machining conditions.

SOLUTION: A laser machining apparatus is provided with: a machining condition setting part for setting the three-dimensional shape and the machining contents of a workpiece surface; a machining data producing part 80K for producing the laser machining data for the workpiece surface according to the machining conditions established at the machining condition setting part; a display part 82 for displaying the image of the laser machining data produced at the machining data producing part 80K; a defective machining area detecting means 80B for calculating a non-machinable area, which is within the machining area scanable by a laser beam but can not be machined under the machining conditions established at the machining condition setting part, based on the three-dimensional shape of the workpiece surface and the emitting position of the laser beam; and a setting warning means 80J capable of making the machining contents non-displayed on the display part 82 when even a part of the machining contents is disposed in the non-machinable area calculated by the defective machining area detecting means 80B.
