<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently pack sponge media contaminated with radioactive substances in a cylinder which is a discard container with regard to a method for reducing the volume of the sponge media. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for reducing the volume the sponge media, when the volume of the sponge media 10 is reduced by compressing/heating the sponge media 10, aqueous urethane in a mass ratio of 5-20% of the mass of the sponge media 10 is added to the sponge media 10, and a required load is applied to reduce its volume. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
