PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device high in general versatility which can be stopped and held at an arbitrary operation position and thus the operation region of which can be changed and set arbitrarily. SOLUTION: A switch operation shaft 4 rotatably supported on a switch case 2 is stuck to a driven plate 6 made of a magnetic substance. An electromagnet 3 is placed in the switch case 2 and slidably fixed to the lower surface of the driven plate 6. When a current is supplied to a coil 3b of the electromagnet 3 to make the electromagnet 3 generate a magnetic force; the driven plate 6 is attracted/fixed by/to the electromagnet 3, and can makes a switch operation shaft 4 be stopped and held at an arbitrary operation position.
