PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short arc lamp in which temperature rise of a connection part with a cathode and a support member for supporting the cathode can be suppressed even if output of light emitted from the short arc lamp becomes larger, and in which without damaging the connection part with the cathode and the support member, and moreover, without falling off of the cathode from the support member, the cathode can be supported surely at a prescribed position of a discharge space by the support member. SOLUTION: In this short arc clamp constituting of a trunk body 1 composed of an insulation member in which a recess discharge space D having a reflecting face 1a curved inside has been formed in the discharge space D, a pair of a cathode 4 and an anode 5 arranged at the focus position of the reflecting face with a gap, the support member 3 connected to the cathode 4, and a power feeding ring 2 which is arranged in the vicinity of the opening edge of the reflecting face and to which the support member 3 is connected, a heat-radiation member H is added to the cathode 4 or the support member 3.
