PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable servo signal in a disk formed by magnetic transfer. SOLUTION: A master medium for magnetic transfer is disclosed in which a disk surface having a magnetic layer is divided into a plurality of sectors and servo data having burst data of four phases for performing the positioning of a magnetic head at a track center are recorded in a servo zone provided in each sector, the master medium for magnetic transfer is characterized in that when the positioning of a magnetic head for evaluation is performed in an off track state without performing the feed-forward control of the servo data and effective servo signal intensity is calculated by a difference between output values of burst data of four phases read out by a magnetic head for evaluation the ratio, H/W<SB>Tr</SB>of a length H in the radial direction of the burst data to the design length W<SB>Tr</SB>of the track is 0.90 to 0.98 in each radial position of the disk surface in the effective servo signal intensity.
