PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently monitor faults of a sensor node with high reliability on the assumption of intermittent operation while saving and effectively utilizing limited resources of the sensor node. SOLUTION: An execution timing of fault determination processing of the sensor node is determined in accordance with a preliminarily set rule on the basis of an intermittent operation interval supposed in the sensor node. That is, when a change of the intermittent operation interval of the sensor node is requested, a monitoring part of a system changes the execution timing of fault determination processing so as to make the execution timing follow the change of the operation interval, immediately after confirming the operation completion of the change of the operation interval of the sensor node. In the case that intermittent operation intervals required per sensor node or classification of sensor nodes are different, execution timings of fault determination processing are properly used per sensor node or classification.
