Disclosed is a ceramic filter formed on a porous substrate and having good permeability and good selectivity. The ceramic filter comprises a monolith-type alumina porous substrate (2) having an average pore size of 1 to 30 µm, a first surface dense layer (3) having an average pore size of 0.1 to 3 µm and provided on the substrate (2), a second surface dense layer (4) having an average pore size of 0.01 to 0.5 µm and provided on the first surface dense layer (3), a third surface dense layer (5) formed with a titania sol, having an average pore size of 0.3 to 20 nm and provided on the second surface dense layer (4), and a carbon membrane layer (6) which is a molecular sieve carbon membrane and provided on the third surface dense layer (5).
