An image forming system embedded with an auto N-up printing function and a method thereof are provided to output auto N-up printings by pressing a button of an image forming device without setting the auto N-up printing function in a host printer driver whenever a user outputs a document, and save printing expenses such as a sheet and toner by performing the auto N-up printing function. A host PC(900) receives a document printing request from a user and transfers the request to an image forming device(200). The image forming device receives selection for activating the auto N-up printing function through a user interface, and outputs the auto N-up printings of the document received from the host PC if the auto N-up printing function is selected. The image forming device includes an auto N-up printing button(210) for enabling the user to activate the auto N-up printing function and a printer processor(222) checking the minimum text font size of the document received from the host PC, and determining the number of pages to be printed in one page and a document size according to the minimum text font size.
