<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal identification system capable of improving an identification accuracy of a specific person. <P>SOLUTION: When the condition which is insufficient for identifying the specific person M in the identification information used for identifying the specific person M is determined, and the condition is satisfied by a mobile robot R moving to track the specific person M, the characteristic information used for the identification of the specific person M is obtained, and the characteristic information is set as the identification information used for the identification of the specific person M to perform the renewal of the identification information.
