<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric cathode which is excellent in detecting sensitivity of light of a specific wavelength and can be manufactured easily, and provide an electron tube provided with the photoelectric cathode. <P>SOLUTION: When light enters into an antenna layer 6 of the photoelectric cathode 1, light of a specific wavelength included in the incident light is combined with a surface plasmon of the antenna layer 6, and a proximity light is outputted from a through-hole 14 of the antenna layer 6. A strength of the outputted proximity light is in proportion with a strength of the specific wavelength light and is stronger than the strength of the light. The outputted proximity light has a wavelength absorbable by a photoelectric conversion layer 4. The photoelectric conversion layer 4 receives the proximity light outputted from the through-hole 14. A peripheral part of the through-hole 14 in the photoelectric conversion layer 4 absorbs the proximity light and generates a photoelectron (e-) in a corresponding amount to a strength of the proximity light (euphotic amount). The photoelectron (e-) generated in the photoelectric layer 4 is outputted outside the photoelectric cathode 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
