PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-directional input device that equalizes detection timing when an operating member is operated in an oscillatory manner in two directions orthogonal to each other. SOLUTION: In the multi-directional input device, a first slider 1 having an opening 1a long in a Y direction, and a second slider 2 having an opening 2a long in an X direction, are arranged in a laminate so that each opening 1a, 2a is orthogonal to each other. Each pair of first/second detection elements 4, 5 is arranged at each of both ends in a moving direction of each first/second slider 1, 2. The operating member 3 oscillated in the X direction and in the Y direction centering around an oscillating fulcrum P is inserted into both openings 1a, 2a. When the operating member 3 is operated in the oscillatory manner in the X direction and in the Y direction at the same angle respectively, the second slider 2, moving on the plane near the oscillating fulcrum P, operates each second detection element 5 via each second dead-band region S2. However, the first slider 4, moving on the plane far from the oscillating fulcrum P, operates each first detection element 1 via each first dead-band region S1 whose width is set wider than that of the second dead-band region S2.
