PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording/reproducing device having a simple and highly reliable cartridge positioning mechanism. SOLUTION: In the information recording/reproducing device where a cartridge housing a plurality of thin optical information recording media is inserted to be used, the cartridge has a linear groove penetrating on an insertion side but not penetrating on its opposite side in each of a pair of facing surfaces parallel to the insertion direction of the information recording/reproducing device. The information recording/reproducing device is provided with two positioning members fitted into each of the grooves of the cartridge from the penetrated side to the unpenetrated side when the cartridge is inserted.
