PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit board which is configured suitably for optical transmission between optical devices taking the characteristics of the optical device into account. SOLUTION: The circuit board is characterized in that it includes: a board having a thickness in a first direction, extending along a plane perpendicular to the first direction and having through holes or recessed parts; and an optical transmission line of which the one end is located at the outer circumferential position of the through hole or the recessed part, and the portion extending from the one end by a predetermined distance in the direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction is arranged in the board or on the surface of the board.
