PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of adding a slime control agent efficiently without futility in the method of adding the slime control agent intermittently at a prescribed time interval. SOLUTION: In the method of adding the slime control agent at a predetermined time interval into a water system, an addition amount of the slime control agent is determined such that the value of oxidation reduction potential in the water system after the elapse of a prescribed time from the addition of the slime control agent to the water system falls into a prescribed numerical range.
