The invention provides a method for treating myeloproliferative disorders , myelodysplastic syndromes and other diseases, in which activation of JAK2 contributes to pathology, in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal an effective amount of a fused pyrrolocarbazole derivative wherein the fuse d pyrrolocarbazole derivative inhibits the activity of JAK2.
