<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device for displaying of high picture quality and wide viewing field angle in both of reflection display and transmission display with respect to a transreflective liquid crystal device using an in-plain switching mode. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device is the transreflective liquid crystal device using an in-plain switching mode, wherein an alignment direction 151 of an alignment film disposed on a transmission display region T and an alignment direction 152 of an alignment film disposed on a reflection display region R are different from each other and vertical alignment layers 61, 62 that vertically aligns liquid crystal 51 are disposed so as to superimpose the boundary part of both regions. Further, belt-like electrodes 19c, 19d having the same potential are opposed via the boundary part and are constituted such that an electric field does not actuate the boundary part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
