<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for displaying a three-dimensional video capable of displaying uniform and clear three-dimensional video without limitations on viewable directions. <P>SOLUTION: When a first optical pulse 12 and a second optical pulse 13 having different wavelength from the first optical pulse 12 are made incident on fluorescent space 11 along one optical axis made incident on the fluorescent space 11 from the same direction so that incident timing may be lagged by predetermined time, the second optical pulse 13 overtakes the first optical pulse 23 by the wavelength dispersion of a refractive index, and strong multi-photon absorption by photons of both the first and second pulses 12 and 13 arises at a location where the first and second pulses 12 and 13 overlap each other, so that a cross-sectional image is formed.
