摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a construction method for a multi-viewpoint stereoscopic display which eliminates contradiction in convergence adjustment, to propose a new optical system in order to make the configuration simple, and to present a multilayer background edge to be superposed on a multi-viewpoint stereoscopic video in terms of the contradiction in convergence adjustment. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-viewpoint stereoscopic display device includes: a display surface on which a pixel is displayed; a condensing system array formed of a plurality of condensing systems on which the light from the display surface is made incident and which emit parallel beams made nearly parallel; and a large-aperture condensing system on which parallel beams from the condensing system array are made incident and which emits the parallel beams to each of observer's both eyes. The large-aperture condensing system forms an image on the image forming surface between the large-aperture condensing system and the observer. A plurality of image display surfaces or edge pattern display surfaces are provided near the display surface or the image forming surface, so that all the images on the display surface or all the edge patterns on the edge pattern display surface can be viewed from the observer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
