PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for greatly accelerating execution of BIOS. SOLUTION: CPU reads a first instruction from a BIOS Flash ROM, and starts execution of the BIOS program. CPU turns on a no-eviction mode (NEM) of a cache and initializes a CAR (cache as RAM). CPU copies the BIOS program from the BIOS Flash ROM to a CAR space, and executes the BIOS program completely in the CAR space. At the end of the execution of the BIOS program in the CAR space, CPU initializes a system memory. After completion of the initialization of the system memory, CPU again reads the BIOS program from the Flash ROM. CPU copies BIOS program modules, not yet executed, from the BIOS Flash ROM to the system memory, executes the BIOS program in the system memory, thus completes initialization of a computer platform.
