PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique capable of suitably improving fuel economy even in traveling on a slope, and capable of suppressing risk of retreating of a vehicle especially in starting on the slope. SOLUTION: The driving system of the internal combustion engine is provided with an economical running control device for automatically stopping the internal engine when a prescribed automatic stop condition is satisfied and automatically starting the internal combustion engine when another prescribed starting condition is satisfied, a tilt sensor for detecting the slope in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle on which the economical running control device is mounted, and a hand brake sensor for detecting whether a hand brake is operated or not. When a backward tilt angle of the vehicle detected by the tilt sensor is equal to or more than A1 (S103) and the hand brake is not applied (S202), automatic stop control of the internal combustion engine by the economical running control device is forbidden (S105).
