METHOD FOR WRITING BURST PATTERNS ON DISK TRACK FOR TIME REDUCTION

A method for writing burst patterns on a disk track for time reduction is provided to reduce four steps for making a servo pattern into three steps. A method for writing burst patterns on a disk track includes the steps of: writing A and D bursts in the middle of an Nth track; writing A and C bursts in the middle of an (N+1)th track; and erasing the A burst and writing a B burst in the middle of an (N+1/2)th track. The vertical interval between the bursts is 1 track. During the last step, only write gates of A and B are opened, and the A burst is erased and the B burst is written. The initial value of N is 1. A step of determining whether the bursts are written on all tracks is further included in the method. If the bursts are not written on all the tracks, 2 is added to the value of N and returns to the step of writing in the middle of the Nth track.
