摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an activated carbon having a high meso-hole occupancy rate. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method comprises using a Mg salt of an organic acid having 6 or more carbons in the structural formula, for example, a Mg salt of citric acid as a raw material, heating the Mg salt of citric acid at 300&deg;C or higher under an inert atmosphere, followed by acid cleaning. When heating the Mg salt of an organic acid at 300&deg;C or higher under an inert atmosphere, fine magnesium oxide (MgO) is formed through oxidation of Mg in the Mg salt of the organic acid, and a carbon film is formed around the MgO, resulting in covering the MgO with C.
