<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately predicting the number of consumption articles used in a scheduled period and further enabling a user to easily estimate the predicted number of consumption articles, and its control method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus which forms an image on a printing medium by using the consumption articles exchangeable by one is equipped with: a usage recording part 91 recording the duration of service and the usage of the consumption articles; a number-of-used-articles calculation part 92 calculating the number of the consumption articles used in a predetermined scheduled duration of service in a predetermined calculation period by using the duration of service and the usage recorded; and a number-of-used-articles informing part 93 informing of the calculated number of the used consumption articles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
