PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas appliance monitoring apparatus capable of easily setting initial settings after the completion of installation and replacement work of a gas meter by navigation, using a display means. SOLUTION: In the gas meter 2, the gas appliance monitoring apparatus is provided with a flow quantity measuring means 12 for measuring the quantity of flow of gas; a setting means 32 for setting various types of settings; a display means 22 for displaying the content of the settings, measurement information on the quantity of flow, etc.; and a control part 21 for monitoring the quantity of flow being measured, on the basis of the content of the settings. A screen for starting initial setting navigation and performing guidance on setting operations is displayed on the display means 22 as an initial screen, after the completion of installation and replacement work so as to sequentially display the predetermined setting items according to prescribed operations at an operating part.
