PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of an inkjet system which can form and detect a test pattern while preventing a recording body from being consumed when the test pattern is formed, and while preventing the test pattern from being formed to a recording body carrying member. SOLUTION: An ink ejected from an ejection opening of a head part 10 on the basis of the test pattern is struck on a pattern image formation plate 16 which is a test pattern forming member of a different body from a conveyance belt 14 as the recording body carrying member of a printer 1 as the image forming apparatus.
