An apparatus and a method are provided to manufacture pellets using sludge generated from waste gas during operation of a smelting reduction apparatus for iron-making and fine ores collected during drying of ores. An apparatus for manufacturing pellets comprises a mixer for mixing fine ores with sludge to provide a mixture, and a pair of forming rolls for extruding the mixture to manufacture pellets, wherein the fine ores are collected in an ore drying unit for drying iron ores, and the sludge is discharged from a molten iron manufacturing apparatus comprising a reduction furnace connected to the ore drying unit to provide reduced irons by reducing the dried iron ores, and a melter-gasifier for receiving the reduced irons and melting the reduced irons to manufacture molten irons. The apparatus comprises a dust bin(210), a sludge bin(220), fixed quantity discharging units(211,221), a binder bin(230), first and second mixers(240,250), forming rolls(260), and a conveyor(280). |
