A method for acquiring a still image of a television is provided to easily acquire an accurate still image by differently adjusting a time interval of still images obtained according to rapidity of the images. A currently displayed image is stopped according manipulation for acquiring a still image(S11,S12). Variation of the displayed image is checked together with the currently displayed image, and rapidity of screen images is divided into a plurality of stages and is determined(S13). A previous image and a subsequent image based on the currently displayed image are captured by certain time intervals and number according to the determination result to acquire a plurality of still images(S14). The plural acquired still images are displayed on the screen. When a still image is selected, it is stored(S15).
