The present invention relates to the activation of the protein synthesis by controlling the post-transcriptional steps of mRNA translation into prote ins. A polypeptide is provided, which is capable of activating said protein translation. The principal industrial application of the invention is the co ntrol of recombinant protein production in cultured cells including in biore actors.
