<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of contributing to improvement of output characteristics of a battery by retaining an active material of small particle diameter in a conductive material and by improving conductivity of an active material layer in an electrode for the battery which can be used under high output conditions. <P>SOLUTION: This is the electrode 1 for battery having a current collector 2, and the active material layer 3 containing the active material 4 and an electroconductive material formed on the surface of the current collector.
