PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering apparatus capable of compensating for a play gap between a worm and a worm wheel. SOLUTION: This electric power steering apparatus includes a housing 301, the worm wheel 303 provided in the housing 301, a worm axis 305 engaged with the warm wheel 303 in the housing 301, a bearing 307 installed on a peripheral part at one end of the worm shaft 305, and a resilient member 309 supporting one end at an angle changed in the axial direction of the worm shaft 305 by the movement of the worm shaft 305. According to this structure, an effect compensating for the gap between the worm 325 and the worm wheel 303 is obtained by providing the resilient member 309 resiliently supporting the worm shaft 305 at the angle changed in the axial direction of the worm shaft 305 by the movement of the worm shaft 305.
