PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly transfer structured document data such as XML data and to ensure reliability even in occurrence of data loss. SOLUTION: The transmission device is provided with a structured document analyzing means analyzing a structured document and generating tree data concerning a tree structure of the structured document, a positional information applying means applying positional information of the tree inside to respective pieces of node information of the tree data, a transmission means transmitting the tree data to a receiving device communicative via a network for each piece of node information and transmitting receiption completion determination information, which is used for determining whether the whole of the tree data are received by the receipt device or not, to the receipt device, and a retransmission means transmitting tree data not received by the receiving device to the receiving device again when receiving a retransmission request from the receiving device.
