PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing friction between an image carrier and a cleaning member. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus provided with the image carrier 8 for carrying a toner image, the cleaning member 22 for abutting the edge 27 of a tip surface 25 on the image carrier 8 in a state that the tip surface 25 is turned upward and scraping toner from the image carrier 8 and a casing 21 for storing the toner scraped by the cleaning member 22; a rectifying surface 28 having an inclination sharper than the tip surface 25 is formed on an extended line of the tip surface 25 in the vicinity of the image carrier 8 and the cleaning member 22 to form an air flow forming space 29 on the upper part in the casing 21.
