PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment-friendly liquid developer capable of high speed image formation while having excellent fixability of toner particles to a recording medium, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the liquid developer. SOLUTION: The liquid developer is obtained by dispersing toner particles into an insulating liquid, and comprises fatty acid monoester and fatty acid triglyceride. The fatty acid monoester and fatty acid triglyceride both comprise unsaturated fatty acid as fatty acid components, and the content of the fatty acid monoester in the insulating liquid is 50 to 99.0 wt.%. The viscosity of the liquid developer at 25°C measured according to JIS Z8809 using an vibration type viscometer is preferably 40 to 1,000 mPa s. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
