PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a position at least at a use position by an accommodation carrier for a bicycle relatively moving between a non-use position and a use position and supported by a base carrier, in a supporting device mounted to an automobile, in particular to a passenger car. SOLUTION: In this supporting device, fixing devices 15, 49 are arranged between guide rails 9, 10 and supporting rails 11, 12. The fixing devices 15, 49 can be operated from an unlocked position Est to a locked position Sst. Also, the fixing devices 15 and 49 fix the positions of the supporting rails 11 and 12 relatively to the guide rails 9 and 10 at least at a use position Bs of the accommodation carrier 7.
