<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine treating or preventing diseases caused by insufficiency of FGF family growth factor such as FGF-18, activating FGF-4 receptor, and to provide a medicinal composition, a quasi-drug composition and a cosmetic composition, especially for providing hair growth agent and comprising natural product-originated components activating FGF-4 receptor. <P>SOLUTION: A fibroblast growth factor agonist selected from a group consisting of extract, protein hydrolyzate, yeast extract, peptide FFVAP, peptide TTMPLW and peptide LPP of Ruelllia brittoniana Leonard or Pennisetum sordidum is provided.
