<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a heat-resistant optical fiber component having superior workability and also applicability to a polyimide-coated fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The polyimide-coated fiber (1) is deposited with a water-soluble or a heat-fusible adhesive (3) and inserted into a glass capillary (4), with the adhesive (3) hardened. The end face is obliquely polished, with the adhesive (3) and the glass capillary (4) removed by using water or heat. Then, the polyimide coating (2) near the obliquely polished end is removed to obtain the heat-resistant optical fiber component. Since the polyimide-coated fiber (1) is inserted into the glass capillary (4) without removing the polyimide coating (2), there hardly occurs damage or breaking during the operation, so that the workability is improved. As the polyimide coating (2) is highly heat resistant, the heat resistance of the optical fiber component can also be increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
