PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which troublesomeness caused by maintaining image quality is decreased. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a blade which is disposed at downstream side from a transfer unit in the rotating direction of an image holding body and at upstream side from a charging unit so as to in contact with the surface of the image holding body; a lubricant supply section which is disposed at downstream side from the transfer unit in the rotating direction of the image holding body and at upstream side from the blade in the rotating direction of the image holding body and used to supply a lubricant to the surface of the image holding body; and a non-woven cloth which is disposed at downstream side from the transfer unit in the rotating direction of the image holding body and at upstream side from the lubricant supply section so as to be in contact with the surface of the image holding body.
