An acrylic adhesive composition, a polarizer comprising the composition, and a liquid crystal display device containing the polarizer are provided to improve durability and to reduce light leakage by decreasing the birefringence generated under stress. An acrylic adhesive composition comprises a (meth)acrylic copolymer comprising 70-95 parts by weight of a C2-C14 alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer and 5-30 parts by weight of a copolymerizable (meth)acrylate monomer containing an aromatic group and has a gel fraction (gel fraction (%) = B/A x 100) of 10-55 %, a swelling index (swelling index = C/B) of 30-110 and a weight average molecular weight of 600,000 or more of the sol (uncrosslinked polymer) eluted with a solvent from an adhesive, wherein A is the mass of an acrylic adhesive composition; B is the dry mass of the insoluble part of an acrylic adhesive composition after the precipitation with a solvent at a room temperature; and C is the mass of the insoluble part swollen by a solvent after the precipitation with a solvent at a room temperature.
