A distribution line communication apparatus wherein the degradation of S/N ratio is suppressed and no interference occurs even if the pass loss for modulated signals of MV distribution lines is small. There are included a first distribution line (1); n second distribution lines (3) that are connected to the first distribution line (1) and to one or more user terminals where n is an integer equal to or greater than three; and m repeaters (4) that are respectively placed at m ones of n connection points at which the first distribution line (1) is connected to the n second distribution lines (3) where m is an integer equal to or greater than two but smaller than n. The m second distribution lines are connected to the respective repeaters via communication signal transmission cables (6), while (n - m) second distribution lines are connected to respective adjacent ones of the repeaters (4) via communication signal transmission cables (9).
