An electromagnet for an opening/closing device of a portable phone is provided to form an opening groove through which a terminal unit of a circuit board pierces, on a lower side of a housing of the electromagnet, thereby uniformly concentrating magnetic forces of a permanent magnet and a coil on a metal part. An electromagnet(100) comprises as follows. A housing(110) has a cylinder-shaped rim unit(112) and a flat unit(111) integratedly formed on one end of the rim unit(112). A permanent magnet(120) is fixed to a central part of the flat unit(111). A core(130) is fixed to an upper part of the permanent magnet(120). A coil(140) is wound on the outer circumference of the core(130) and the permanent magnet(120). A circuit board(150) is installed inside the housing(110) to be contacted with the flat unit(111), and delivers external power to the coil(140). An opening groove(113) is formed on the rim unit(112) to be adjacent to the flat unit(111), so that at least a portion of the circuit board(150) is exposed to the outside of the housing(110).
