A building includes a multiplicity of modules, each module having an exterior shape generally of a cuboid having side, end, top and bottom faces, and fabricated from metal. Each module is hollow and defines a space of a size suitable for occupation by a person, the module including fastening elements (21) to allow the module to be fastened to another module, the fastening elements including fastening elements at a centre-to-centre widthwise spacing of about 2260mm and engage able by the same standard equipment as handles and transports standard freight containers. The modules are fastened together to form part or all of a building with aligned openings in adjacent walls of adjacent modules to allow a person to move from one module to another. The modules include a module (71,20 74) that has been provided in flat pack form with sides and/or ends (76) of the module erected on site. |
