The railway carriage doors (1a,b) locking and unlocking system has rotating hooked bolt members (10). These members hold the outside edges of the doors and are worked by rod drives (24,25) from a central motor (6a). - The bolts swivel on vertical axes and move synchronously. The doors move outward and sideways on curved tracks (2a,b). There are fixed rack members (3a,b) and toothed belt drives (6a,b) with pulleys (7) for synchronization of top swinging drive mechanisms.
