The wet malt mill (1) comprises a squeezing device, a reception chamber (6) intended beneath the squeezing device and a conveying member (8) connected to the reception chamber for malt product, and a water inlet mechanism arranged in the reception chamber. The reception chamber consists of a collector area for malt product lying in flow direction before the conveying member that is limited towards the top by a normal level line. The water inlet mechanism contains a distributor arranged in the collector area of the reception chamber with an outlet opening (7) for water under pressure. The distributor is provided with a group from upward and/or a group from downward pointing the outlet opening. The upwardly pointing outlet opening consists of a small outlet cross-section than the downwardly pointing the outlet opening. The distributor has a deflector turned at its upper side of the squeezing device. The distributor has a quadratic cross section with outwardly lying edge. A multiple of conveying members arranged next to each other are arranged to the reception chamber and the distributor is symmetrically arranged to the conveying member. An independent claim is included for a procedure for the operation of the wet malt mill.
