LENS PROTECTING APPARATUS FOR A CAMERA OF THE CELLULAR PHONE

A lens protection device for a portable phone camera is provided to use a speed reducer assembly capable of increasing driving power of a motor which drives a lens cover to deliver the increased power to the lens cover, thereby using the motor which generates low-degree driving power, consequently a manufacturing cost is cut down. A base(110) has opening holes(111,112) through which a camera lens is exposed. A lens cover(120) is linearly driven on the base(110) to open/close the holes(111,112). A motor assembly(150) electrically generates rotational driving power for driving the cover(120). A speed reducer assembly(160) increases the rotational driving power by reducing speed of the assembly(150), and delivers the increased power. A power converter converts the delivered power into linear driving power to deliver the converted power to the cover(120). A sensing unit(170) controls operation of the assembly(150) by sensing an opening/closing state of the cover(120).
