A starter is provided to reduce the weight and length of the starter by replacing an external terminal, a lead, a washer and a nut by a terminal. A starter(1) includes a magnetic switch(2), a motor(3), and a connection member. The magnetic switch includes a movable contact(25) and a fixed contact(27) connected to a power supply. The motor starts an engine by using power supplied from the power supply. The connection member has a first end facing the movable contact in the magnetic switch and a second end inserted into the motor and connected to a magnetic circuit of the motor. The connection member supplies power to the magnetic circuit from the fixed contact through the movable contact when the movable contact is contacted. |
